Eye Surgery

If you have been referred by another practitioner for surgery or are interested in getting a surgical procedure, please let us know when scheduling your appointment.  Your initial consultation exam will vary depending on what type of procedure you need.  You will likely undergo many of the same tests as outlined in our Comprehensive Exam section.  Additional measurements and testing are often needed, but are painless and non-invasive.  If it is determined that surgery is the best option, you will speak to Katharina, our surgical coordinator, to schedule your surgery and review your pre- and post-operative instructions.  Most surgeries are scheduled on Monday.  Below are some commonly performed surgical procedures:

• Cataract surgery with intraocular lens implants
• LASIK
• PRK
• Corneal Transplants
• DSAEK - a partial corneal transplant for Fuchs Dystrophy patients
• Glaucoma procedures such as trabeculectomies and shunts
  
• YAG peripheral iridotomies
• YAG capsulotomies
